House of Cards

I'm gonna have a mock ASEAN exam this Monday, during recess to pick out who will actually be taking part in the real ASEAN quiz. I'm scared, I really really want to take part in the quiz, it seems like a huge opportunity. I could get the ASEAN scholarship if I do well. And it will look good on my applications if I've taken part in the ASEAN quiz. I sound like sucha nerd =.=

But as usual, Nadia le procrastinator has hardly read anything. Beri guud.

15 Step

I miss my parents throwing big birthday parties and all my cousins coming with huge presents. I miss rolling around on the bed with my brother and my dad tickling us to death. I miss the surprise Barbie dolls my mother used to buy for me. I miss those week-long sleepovers with my cousins. I miss tennis and swimming and horse-riding with my cousins. I miss dancing and singing along to the Spice Girls and the Backstreet Boys. I miss those long bike rides to the beach with my dad and brother. I miss the pride I felt when I managed to fast for a whole day. I miss the joy of finding a 1 Ringgit coin under my pillow after I lost a tooth. I miss the ridiculously simple Standard 1 work. I miss playing kejar-kejar and batu seremban in school. I miss being silly and annoying and being able to get away with it. I miss the silly handshakes my friends and I used to make up. I miss skipping school every Friday to go to KL. I miss singing the alphabet out loud and learning how to count to 10 using my tiny fingers.

Now my days are just full of papers, equations, numbers, essays and graphs. Everyday I grow further away from childhood and grow into adulthood. Where nothing is easy, everyday is a race, everything is a competition.

I miss things being simple and easy. I miss being a kid.
Well, this is life.
