Bizarre/Bazaar

A Bazaar Ramadhan is a nice place to eavesdrop people. Not on purpose of course, but you know. Hear little snippets of conversation between the people you pass. Because every family is so different and uniquely weird, it's fun to listen to what they have to say to each other.

Like I was walking past this family and the dad was explaining something to his little boy, who looked around 6 or 7. And I think they were talking about football. The dad was saying

"Yang hok orang-orang main bola tengah-tengah malam nuh, terencat akal siket. Awok jgn pergi ikut perangai tu. Bila awok besar nanti, tak payah. Paham?"

I swear. Man, I pity the little boy. Is he going to have a fun teenage life or what?

And then there are the hawkers with their funny lines to attract customer attention. The stuff they like to yell out. Sometimes stuff with absolutely nothing to do with what they're selling. Like this pakcik satay, who while fanning the satay was commenting (or shouting) on the weather, which was pretty cloudy

"Haaaa, hari dah gelap! Hari dah gelap! Embun dah nak jatuh! Beli satay cepaaaaat! Nanti sejuk macam hari ni! Satay! Satay!"

And some murtabak guy saw me looking at his murtabak

"Ye, cik adik! Jalan perlahan! Jalan sloooooooow mooooootion! Sloooooooow! Ohhp, stop! Ok, mari sini beli murtabak!"

Aku pun pergi la gerai sebelah beli nasi air.
Kesian dia. Tak jadi pulak strategi menarik perhatian.

Haha.
